With a 32 inch barrel round except for a central sighting ridge and secured by a removable finely engraved silver fore-end cap, stamped underneath by the barrel maker Charle Merley of St. Etienne, engraved tang incorporating a scooped rear sight, engraved lock signed “Chre Maye Marseille” with nicely engraved cock and roller frizzen, walnut quarter stock with detachable greyhound head butt finely carved and complete with white metal dog collar, chequered pistol grip, steel mounts including engraved pillared trigger guard, trigger plate with an urn finial, two floral engraved side nail escutcheons and stylised letter F inlaid in silver wire opposite the lock, horn tipped ramrod with worm supported by two pipes on barrel bands.
