With 42 inch barrel, square fore-sight acting as a bayonet lug, banded breech signed ‘LONDON’ and stamped with private proofs, ‘SI’ and ’10’, flared squared tang, plain slightly curved lock signed ‘CLARK’, walnut hand-rail full-stock with brass furniture, the butt-plate tang marked ’96’ beneath ‘N.Y.’, side-plate stamped ’10’, fore-end swollen at the ramrod throat, iron swivels and iron ramrod, together with a period socket bayonet.
