			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Flintlock, converted to caplock and reconverted to flintlock, with 31 ¾ inch rebrowned twist barrels, silver fore-sight, patent recessed breeches each with gold-lined touch hole, gold-lined maker&#8217;s mark and gold-inlaid line, foliate engraved grooved tang, signed flat bevelled border engraved locks each engraved with a martial trophy on the stepped tail and with rain-proof pan and roller, figured walnut half-stock with chequered grip,vacant wrist escutcheon, engraved iron mounts including trigger-guard with pineapple finial, and brass-mounted ramrod with worm, London proof marks. The serial number is marked on the barrels and on the breeches. Length of pull 14 ? inches.<br />

I. C. lion and date 1809 across the tail, a crowned 2 under the pan, walnut hand rail full stock of sea service type with standard brass mounts including flat butt cap, plain trigger guard and single ramrod pipe, the side plate stamped ‘BULLION OFFICE No. 2’, brass tipped ramrod.</p>

Mortimer &amp; Son 89 Fleet Street&#8217;, gold-inlaid line and platinum-lined touch-hole, tang engraved with a hound chasing a hare, flat engraved lock signed &#8216;H.W. Mortimer &amp; Son&#8217; with rainproof pan and roller, figured walnut half-stock with chequered grip and raised cheek-piece, engraved iron mounts including scrolled trigger-guard and trigger-plate with pineapple finial, silver escutcheon and barrel-bolt escutcheons, the former engraved with initials, silver fore-end cap, and later horn-tipped ramrod, London proof marks, in its fitted mahogany case lined in green baize with some accessories including two iron shot-chargers and two extra steels, the lid with Mortimer &amp; Son trade label, the exterior with flush-fitting brass carrying handle and circular brass escutcheon.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Each pistol with 9 inch octagonal twist sighted barrel retaining traces of original browning, signed on the top flats ‘PROSSER  CHARING CROSS  LONDON’ and with a gold line at the breech platinum touch hole, finely engraved tang incorporating the rear sight, flat signed bolted locks with border engraving and a sunburst behind the pan, cock and roller frizzen engraved en suite, walnut full stocks with saw handled chequered grips and flat oval butts, engraved iron mounts including trigger guards pineapple finials, silver barrel bolt escutcheons, horn tipped ramrods, one with worm, set triggers; in their original green baize lined (some moth damage) mahogany case with accessories including three way red leather covered brass mounted flask (some damage to the leather), the lid with original trade label and circular brass recessed carrying handle.</p>
<p>An unusual set in original and ‘sleepy’ condition.</p>

London Silver Hallmarks for 1765, Maker&#8217;s Mark of John King.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>With 38 ¼ inch two-stage Spanish barrel with gold spider fore-sight, the octagonal breech inlaid with engraved gold decoration and with two gold-lined maker’s stamps of Francisco Antonio Baeza Y Bis of Madrid (Neue Støckel 7058-9), gold-lined touch-hole, engraved grooved tang, signed engraved flat bevelled lock with stepped tail, figured full stock carved with a shell in relief behind the barrel tang and rear ramrod-pipe, engraved cast and chased silver mounts including trigger-guard with floral finials, and pierced side-plate in the form of a sportsman at rest with his dogs and hanging game, vacant rococo escutcheon with a satyr&#8217;s head above, three engraved spring-held silver barrel bands in the Spanish fashion, and silver-tipped ramrod with worm.</p>
