With 31 inch two stage sighted barrel, octagonal at breech becoming polygonal with a girdle before becoming round, inscribed on the top flat “LONDON • GUNMAKER TO HIS MAJESTY”, stamped on the underside with the maker’s mark and serial number 519(?), platinum maker’s stamp and two platinum lines on the recessed breech with platinum touch hole, engraved tang, flat signed border engraved lock with game scene engraving and “89 FLEET ST?·”, swan neck cock, waterproof pan, roller frizzen with additional roller on the adjustable frizzen spring, figured walnut half stock, silver barrel bolt escutcheons and fore-end cap, wrist escutcheon with the faint remains of an owner’s crest, iron mounts including engraved scrolled trigger guard and trigger plate with pineapple finial, brass tipped ramrod, London proofs.
