Each gun with 31½ inch browned sighted barrels inscribed on the top rib: JOSEPH EGG & SONS . No 1 PICCADILLY LONDON, recessed breeches with platinum lined touch holes, finely engraved tang with scrolls of foliage, flat signed lock plates with border and foliage engraving ensuite with the rounded hammers each with a shield around the striker, figured walnut pistol grip half stock with slender cheek piece finely chequered on the hand and fore end, iron mounts including butt plate with engraved tang, engraved and blued trigger guard, trigger plate with ornately engraved finial ensuite with the pistol grip cap, oval gold escutcheon depicting an earl’s crown above a wyvern, no provision for a ramrod.
