With 2½ inch octagonal blued sighted barrels signed on the top flat “JOSEPH EGG. LONDON” and on the bottom flat “No. 1 Piccadilly” with floral engraving at the breech, finely engraved tang incorporating the rear sight, flat border engraved locks with exterior main springs signed at the tail beneath an engraved flower head, finely engraved dolphin hammers, figured walnut half stock with finely chequered grip and vacant gold escutcheon stamped with number 726 below the left hand lock, profusely engraved silver mounts comprising hallmarked trigger guard and butt cap with plain gold pommel; contained in its mahogany red velvet lined case with accessories including a diminutive nickel powder flask, ball mould, separate white metal cleaning and loading rods, spare hammers and spare nipples in a bone container.

Note: This delightful little pistol which has survived in almost as new condition is typical of Joseph Egg’s high-quality work and is of the type commissioned by royalty.
