With earlier 38 ¾ inch continental russet sighted barrels retaining traces of original blueing, silver fore sight centred on gold damascened foliage and set back from the muzzle by 5 ½ inches, breeches with gilt foliage and rocailles surmounted by a basket of flowers, and each stamped with unidentified crowned maker’s mark retaining traces of original gold lining, gold lined touch holes, plain grooved tang, signed border engraved flat locks each decorated with game birds in a landscape at the stepped tail with a starburst, and with rainproof pan, roller and foliate engraved cock, figured half stock with cheek piece, chequered grip and fore end, border engraved steel mounts retaining traces of original blueing and comprising butt plate decorated with game birds in a landscape on the heel of the tang, scroll trigger guard with a martial trophy and foliage on the bow, trigger plate with pineapple finial, silver rear ramrod pipe en suite, vacant silver escutcheon, and later horn-tipped ramrod with iron worm.
