With 1 ½ inch turn-off barrels engraved with a band of foliage at the muzzle, scroll engraved actions signed ‘W. MILLS / 120 / HOLBORN’ and ‘LONDON’, engraved thumb-piece safety-catches also locking the steels, folding triggers, figured flat-sided walnut butts each chequered on the back edge and the underside and pierced and lined with engraved steel to form a barrel-key for the other pistol, and silver escutcheons each engraved with a crest and initials, in original fitted mahogany case lined in red velvet (faded) with some accessories including small three-way brass-mounted copper pistol-flask, barrel-key, and bullet mould, the central tray lifting out to reveal a lower tier, the lid with trade label of William Mills, the exterior with flush-fitting circular carrying handle and circular brass escutcheon engraved with the same crest and initials as the pistols.
