With 2¾ inch round turn off barrels, the actions with floral engraving surrounding a banner with the maker’s name on the left and LONDON on the right, throat hole cocks, roller frizzens, thumb safety slides also engaging the frizzens, plain slab sided walnut butts, hidden triggers, in their original green baize lined mahogany case the lid with circular vacant brass escutcheon and recessed carrying handle, ivory key escutcheon, the interior with the earliest known maker’s trade label and containing original accessories including powder flask, ball mould and barrel key, the whole set in very well preserved original condition.

Note: James Wilkinson, successor and son-in-law to Henry Nock, Gunmaker to George III, active between 1800 and 1839 died in 1848 aged 90. Founder of Wilkinson & Son, still in business today as Wilkinson Sword.
