Superb Cased Pair of 38 bore Percussion Duelling Pistols

Converted from flintlock by the maker with 10 inch browned octagonal sighted scratch rifled barrels inscribed “John Manton & Son Dover street” on the top flats, bearing the barrel maker’s mark WF (William Fullard) underneath, engraved tangs incorporating the rear sights, finely engraved detented locks signed “JOHN MANTON & SON PATENT” with blued safety bolts, figured walnut half stocks with finely chequered butts and horn fore end caps, wrist escutcheons with owner’s initials “J. B.H. III”, engraved blued steel butt caps and trigger guards, set triggers, original brass tipped ramrods, in their original green baize lined mahogany case with accessories including red leather covered three way flask, round ivory patch box, mallet, nipple wrench with pricker, ball mould and spring clamp, the interior of the lid with maker’s trade label, the exterior with inset circular carrying handle. London proof marks. The whole set in outstanding condition with much original finish.
