Each pistol with 10 inch rebrowned octagonal sighted scratch rifled barrel, recessed breech with platinum maker’s stamp and platinum line, platinum touch hole, engraved tang incorporating the rear sight, detented border engraved lock signed JOSEPH MANTON LONDON, sliding safety, waterproof pan, roller steel engraved JOSEPH MANTON PATENT, walnut half stock with horn fore end cap and chequered butt, silver wrist escutcheon with owner’s crest, steel furniture with some original blueing including butt cap and trigger guard engraved with trophies, pineapple finial to the trigger plate, horn tipped ram rod; contained in their original mahogany green baize lined case with accessories including a red leather covered three way flask, ball mould, turn screws and loading/cleaning rod, the interior of the lid with maker’s trade label for 1805-1812, the exterior with recessed brass circular carrying handle around an escutcheon with the owner’s crest and initials. No proof marks.
