Each pistol with 9½ inch two stage cannon barrel chiselled in low relief ahead of the breech section with a laurel wreath surrounding a flower, plain tang, rounded signed lock with gold lined pan and a martial trophy in raised relief on the swan neck cock, figured walnut half stock with extensive silver wire inlaid scroll work and shell patterns, ornate rococo style silver mounts including long spurred butt caps, unusual wrist escutcheon, side plate trigger guard with urn finial and large fore end cap all cast and chased in high relief with finely detailed flowering foliage and martial trophies, silver tipped ramrod, silver hallmarks for 1772 and silver maker’s mark of John King.
